Free, green email - why are you doing this?
Because we are very cool people, whom, like you, aren't real happy with the current state of the world. Instead of just complaining about our woes and drowning our sorrows in wheatgrass juice, we try and instigate positive change with projects like CommunityMail - it's one of the few free earth-friendly email services around! Learn more about us and the other ways we assist in the community.
Will you sell my details to rabid, corporate cancer type marketers?
Wow, no - of course not; how could you even suggest that? Please, leave now, you've hurt our feelings.
... but seriously, it's a valid question. We will not sell your personal details to other companies for the purposes of marketing without your express written consent. If there are special offers to be made, we'll make the announcement and we will only ever send you offers from progressive-principles based companies and organizations through our regular newsletter, delivered fresh and steaming to your CommunityMail inbox once a week!
Eeek! Why do you want my personal details?
It's a sad fact that the world isn't a very nice place at the moment. We need the details we request for identification verification purposes in case any nasty right-wing types think that they can use our services to spread their evil messages of hate, violence, intolerance and plain stupidity. CommunityMail is a friendly place, where people of like minds gather - we want to keep it that way

Can I send the same message to more than one person?
- You can send the same email to up to 10 people at the same time. To do so, add the addresses to the To:, Cc:, and/or Bcc: fields, but ensure you separate each email address with a semi-colon like so: person1@hippiemail.com, person2@activist.cc.

- CC stands for "Carbon Copy", meaning that the recipients will see who the other recipients are. BCC is "Blind Carbon .Copy" - a recipient will not be able to see the other recipient email addresses.
How do I use the spell check feature?
- Click the "Spell Check" button, located above the "To" box, on the Compose Mail screen.
- If spell check fails to recognize a word in your email, it will appear in a box along with alternative word suggestions. You can select a suggestion by clicking on the one you'd like to use then the "Change" button. Then click "OK" to save the changes or cancel to.. well, cancel the changes :).
I haven't got time to finish the email - is there a drafts feature?
Yes indeedy. Just client the "Save Message" button toward the top of the Compose Message window. You can reopen the message by clicking on the "Drafts" link in the left hand folder and then clicking on the message you wish to continue with.
Messages saved in your Drafts folder will remain until you delete them.
Do you have size limits on sending messages?
Yes; up to 2 mb. Please bear in mind that when uploading attachments to be sent with an email, the attachment needs to be converted into a format that other email software packages can translate. Therefore, take into account the file size may increase up to 33% when attaching to an email
What does a "Failed Delivery" message mean?
We love easy questions :). This means that for whatever reason, the system at
the receiving end bounced your message back, or there was no system/recipient at
the other end to send it to. Usually there will be a reason briefly noted in the
body of the bounce message stating why it could not be delivered.
Receiving email

- Done, bad guy go bye-bye!
Our blocking feature also works on subject lines using a similar process.
Is there a size limit on inbound emails?
Believe it or not, the email protocols currently in use today were never really designed for large attachments - in fact they put poor old Mother Internet under a massive strain, clogging up her arteries with funnies, viruses and photos sent by people who don't know how to optimize images for online transport.
In short, yes we do have a limit - it's 2 mb.
